![]() With 257 spacious guest rooms and 17,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, the Hilton San Diego / Del Mar will exceed your expectations. Located near the charming seaside village of Del Mar, the hotel is also centrally located to all of San Diego's major attractions, and is the perfect choice for your home away from home. The hotel is just minutes from pristine beaches, numerous shopping areas and restaurants, and is directly across the street from the Del Mar Fairgrounds and world famous Del Mar Racetrack. ![]() A warm welcome and exceptional luxury awaits, whether you are traveling for business or simply enjoying the beautiful Southern California coastline. The people that served us were friendly and entertaining, especially the young man who had just started in his new job and came from the Yosemite region (I forgot his name).Located in North County San Diego, the Hilton San Diego / Del Mar hotel offers impeccable accommodations in a beautiful resort-style setting. In general, uncaring service except during the evenings in the bar. We could luckily sit outside and get the last table in the shade, but other guests had to sit in the sun and were obviously unhappy. We were there for 2 nights and on the 1st morning the breakfast area was closed for some private event. But what really upset me was the fact that I found out the hotel doesn't even have connecting standard rooms! I told the front desk I felt ripped of but they couldn't care less. No parlor, no extra amenities, no filled minibar, no safe. However, the only "executive" part of the room was a small kitchenette we had no intention to use. We weren't left with a choice so we accepted. When we got there, they gave us the choice between 2 standard rooms close to each other or a standard room connecting to an executive room at an extra 40 USD per night. We called the hotel the day prior to arrival and they still couldn't confirm. Upon reservation, the hotel couldn't confirm since it was high season. We booked 2 rooms and requested connecting rooms since our kids are still very young. Although there are signs that dogs can't sit on the furniture, staff doesn't care. The hotel accepts dogs and it seems this is a unique selling point for the hotel as half the guests bring dogs. When walking barefoot on the wooden floor, you can feel the dirt. I am a fan of IHG and used my points to book. Location of the hotel is convenient, the area is good, nice building with large rooms, pleasant pool and well appointed public areas. ![]() Indigo is definitely NOT your average "chain", and has many more amenities than your usual "boutique" hotel. Our only suggestion was there was only ONE drawer to unpack in. Rooms are light and airy, bedding is super comfortable, good closet space. Seem to specialize in facials and massage. The spa is lovely, but we were disappointed they no longer did nails. Workout room is in an awkward area to find, but completely sufficient. Every server and desk person we dealt with were super friendly and helpful. All views from deck, bar and dining areas are breathtaking. Great Happy Hour on Thursday eves with firepits on patio overlooking pool area. Never ate dinner or lunch here, but all breakfasts were well prepared with a super menu. Easy, 15min walk to nearest beach and children's playground, central Del Mar with wonderful shops and restaurants. Not "on" ocean, but a short walk to trail on the beach bluffs which had fabulous views. Spent 4 nights here to celebrate a family wedding.
